I could not believe my eyes when I saw the headline to this news article.  My first thought was, "So, just what sin is it that Jesus was supposed to have committed?"  I quickly realized that was beside the point.  The real question is, what kind of a Christian could actually believe such a thing?  The answer is, a true Christian would never believe such a thing!

The story, reported by WorldNetDaily, provides an interesting, yet very sad, profile of Christianity in the United States.  That article can be read by clicking here.

Listed below is a summary of the sickening statistics:

  • Half of Americans who claim to be Christians do not believe that Satan exists.

  • One third believe Jesus sinned.

  • Many Christians believe that a person can do enough good works to earn eternal salvation.

  • 25 percent do not believe that the "Bible is accurate in all of the principles it teaches."

This last statistic is the most telling, and explains all of the others and is used by these self-professing Christians to justify what they want to believe.

We live in a society that practices "cafeteria Christianity", each picking and choosing what they want to believe.  The article goes into detail on this aspect.

The Bible is the Word of God, and one cannot pick and choose what is truth.  Either you believe it all, or you don't.  There is no compromise.
