Moses and Israelites High on Drugs?

By Steve Thompson, Midnight in America

I read the news online daily, and I come across some pretty amazing stories.  Some are quite funny, even while they are trying to be serious.  Take this one for instance: Israeli Researcher Suggests Moses, Followers Were High On Drugs.  This story, reported on FOXNews.com (click here to read original story) is a prime example of what a man will do to try and explain away the Word of God.

When I first read this, I was angry.  Then, the humor of it all struck me.  The Israeli researcher, Benny Shanon, actually believes this nonsense.  He claims to have personally partaken a 'brew' made of two plants found in the region of Sinai that produce a hallucinogenic effect.  Perhaps it is this brew that has affected his mind and brought him to this marvelous revelation!

At this point in these News Watch articles I usually recommend some Midnight Ministries literature that is related to the subject matter.  For the life of me, I cannot think of a single thing to touch on this subject!
